The 12th Assembly of the Diocese of Rumbek, which started last Monday, was graced yesterday by the presence of the Bishop of Tambora Yambio, his Lordship Edward Hiboro.Fr. Don Bosco, reporting for Sudan Catholic Radio News, said that Bishop Edward Hiboro arrived in Rumbek last evening and was invited by Bishop Caesar Mazzolari to share with the participants of the Diocesan Assembly, what the bishops of Africa had presented last October in Rome, during their Assembly which is referred to as the 2nd African Synod.
Bishop Edward Hiboro, together with Cardinal Zubeir and Bishop Deng of Wau, represented Sudan at the three-week assembly. The theme of their gathering was: “The Church in Africa at the Service of Reconciliation, Justice and Peace.”
The bishop proposed a new apostolate of families of the many Christians in African who are not married in the Church.
