About 260 million dollars worth of goods was traded between Uganda and southern Sudan last year, an official said.

Nelson Gaggawala Wambuzi, the Ugandan trade state minister, said that the goods to southern Sudan tripled. In 2006, goods worth over 60 million dollars were traded between the two countries, New Vision website reported.

Mr. Gaggawala challenged the ministry’s staff to ensure programmes that help villagers to produce goods for sale.
