The Catholic Bishop of Rumbek has called on the Church personnel and friends of his diocese to take ownership of the newly established Good News Radio.

Bishop Caesar Mazzolari said this in a letter entitled Giving personality and voice to Radio Good News: The voice of God’s people addressed to the Church personnel and friends of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek.

The bishop described the radio as an extraordinary accomplishment and instrument of communication for the purpose of education, entertainment, formation and evangelization toward justice, reconciliation and peace.

Bishop Mazzolari appealed to everyone to become part of the informing and broadcasting team of the radio, adding that he expects contributions of news items, stories, and narration of events, brief educational and formative representations.

The bishop stated that Radio Good news is designed to be the voice of God’s people. Therefore it must become also the voice and the echo of the people wherever they are.
