An official from Central Equatoria Ministry of Wildlife Conservation and Tourism has call on citizens to preserve wildlife in the state.

Mr. Minasona Lero Peter is the Director of Wildlife Management. He told journalists that organized forces and citizens must conserve wildlife because they are exhaustible.

Mr. Lero said poachers kill many animals for commercial purposes.

He added that poaching is common because of high demand for wild game in Juba.

Mr. Lero said poachers kill animals in big numbers when they come to the river for water during the dry season.

He lamented many citizens ignore the social, cultural and economic benefits of wildlife conservation.
