The catholic archbishop of Juba has announced some important changes taken in the Sudan Catholic Bishops Conference Plenary closed sessions and not followed up yet.
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro told a meeting of Church personnel on Saturday that the Sudanese bishops decided to change the secretary-general of the bishops’ conference, in Khartoum, and the secretary-general of the bishops’ regional office in Juba.Archbishop Lukudu said that the Bishops’ main secretariat General will be transferred from Khartoum to Juba together with the national offices of Sudan Aid and Justice and Peace Commission.
The archbishop added that students of philosophy at St. Paul’s Major Seminary in Khartoum will be moved to Juba’s Munuki seminary in July.
The structure is under repair.
Archbishop Lukudu said the Bishops also decided to hold two plenary assemblies in 2010, one in July in Juba and another in November in Rumbek, to monitor closely the situation in the Sudan.
The archbishop of Juba added that the Catholic bishops of Sudan will be in the Vatican from March 6 to 14 for the visit to the Pope and the Holy See’s many offices they have to do every five years to report on their dioceses.
