Southern Sudan Democratic Forum (SSDF) today handed in its candidatures for the governorship of Central Equatoria state and other posts for the April elections.

SSDF leader Martin Elia Lomuro told journalists that his party nominated Ayine Richard Simon for the governorship of Central Equatoria state.

Mr. Lomuro added that Mr. Ayine is one of the best choices for Central Equatoria state governorship.

He said SSDF will contest for governorship in Central Equatoria, Unity and Warap states.

Mr. Lomuro affirmed that SSDF will present MP candidates for nine geographical constituencies.

Today was the last day for submitting candidacy papers for executive and legislative places during the April general elections after the National Elections Commission extended the period to give more time to candidates to prepare their processes.
