Shelter for Life International, a faith based aid organization, is constructing 50 houses at Himodonge Payam, in Torit County, to accommodate war victims and volunteers.

Field coordinator, Fr. Adrew Lodu, told Radio Emmanuel that the construction is partially funded by people of good will from a group of USA churches.

Fr. Lodu added that the beneficiaries – windows, war veterans, people with disabilities and volunteer teachers – also contribute to the building after being trained on brick making.

The bricks they will make are to be used in the construction of houses.

The rehabilitation centre aims at raising the living standard of vulnerable people by enabling them to experience the peace dividends after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
