The United Democratic Front (UDF) has announced the posts the party has chosen to run for in the April general elections.

UDF leader Peter Abdurrahman Sule told the press that his party will contest for posts in all constituencies in the elections except for the presidency of the republic and for the GoSS presidency.

Mr. Sule added that his party will put forward candidates for governor in Central Equatoria and Western Bahr el Ghazal state.

Mr. Sule will run for Governor of Central Equatoria while Edward Nori Okola is the UDF candidate for Western Bahr el Ghazal state.

Mr. Sule affirmed that UDF will not contest for GoSS presidency due to financial difficulties and political bullying.

Mr. Sule said some UDF members have been jailed and even beaten in several occasions and places in Southern Sudan at the orders of governors and county commissioners.

He added that SPLA commanders are involved in the harassment of UDF members.
