A global day of action on the Sudan will take place tomorrow to mark the fifth anniversary of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the countdown for the referendum that will determine whether the Southern Sudan will separate from the North.

Groups from across the world are expect to join the initiative “A Beat for Peace” tomorrow organizing drumming rallies around the world to mark the CPA Day.

Events are being held in Mali, Togo, Benin, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Kenya, UK, Italy, Norway, New Zealand, Egypt, USA and other places.

The initiative marks also the beginning of Sudan365, a one-year long campaign put together by leading human rights organizations to mount a strong call to action asking the international community to take urgent diplomatic action to prevent a return to violence in the Sudan.
