Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement (SPLM) needs a new Sudan with new ideologies, an official has said.

James Wani Igga, speaker of Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly, yesterday represented GoSS president on the Students’ celebrations of Independence and the Fifth Anniversary of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in Juba’s Nyakuron Cultural Centre.

Mr. Igga said during his speech that the old Sudan was full of inequality, marginalization and suppression based on colour, race and religion.

He added that the CPA replaced the old Sudan with the spirit of cooperation, peace, development and equality.

Mr. Igga said that new ideas have to come from the bases of the SPLM.

He added that the ideas of the old Sudan of inequality, and suppression must be expelled.

Mr. Igga was speaking at the Sudan General students Union celebrations of Independence and the CPA anniversary yesterday in Juba.
