Betty Lio, a student at the university, appealed thought Bakhita radio over the phone from Wau for help for Equatoria students at Bahr el Ghazal University saying their situation is serious.
Ms. Lio said students spent the night without water, food and shelters to sleep.
She added that nothing has been done to solve the problem contrary to official information.
Ms. Lio said the University authorities seem not to want to solve the crisis between students from Equatoria and Jonglei.
Equatoria and Dinka students have been clashing at the University of Bahr el Gazal University since Sunday.
Tension started on December 24 when a student from Equatoria wounded a colleague from Bor, in Jonglei State.
Yesterday Bahr el Ghazal minister for Information told Sudan Tribune website that calm was restored at the University and students resumed classes and exams.
However, another student at the University told SCR News that some 360 students from Greater Equatoria signed a petition to be transferred to the University of Juba.
They also refused to sit for their exams if security was not guaranteed by the university administration.
The Equatoria students are taking refuge at the army barracks, in Wau.
