Tensions between students from Greater Equatoria and Jonglei state are disrupting exams at Bahr el Ghazal University in Wau.
A student at the university told SCR News over the phone that troubles started on December 24 when a drunken student from Equatoria attacked and wounded a colleague from Jonglei.

The university authorities expelled the aggressor.

However, the Equatoria Students Association asked the university to allow the dismissed student to take his exams and saw their request accepted.

Jonglei students rallied against the decision on Saturday morning.

Our source said Greater Bor students clashed with their colleagues from Central Equatoria and vandalized some university property.

About 360 students from Greater Equatoria refused today to seat for their exams.

They are demanding a safe place where they can do their tests alone.

Our source added that the Equatoria students signed a letter requesting to be transferred to the University of Juba for the coming semester.
