GoSS Minister for Internal Affairs said today that the incident in a hotel at Juba’s former Customs market that killed three Kenyans and wounded another two should be treated as an isolated episode not related to the government of Southern Sudan.

Minister Gier Chuang Aloung told journalists that the incident was not deliberate.

He added that the incident was an isolated case committed by an individual and GoSS is not responsible for it.

Mr. Chuang said that the culprit has been arrested and is currently under SPLA custody for investigation.

He added that the reaction in Kenya had been negative with a government official holding the Government of Southern Sudan responsible for the shooting.

Mr. Chuang said that the bodies of the three victims were flown to Kenya today.
