The march ended at Dr. John Garang De Mabior Mausoleum where the participants were enlightened on the current political situation in the country and on the future implementation of CPA and the pending laws.
GoSS President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Central Equatoria Governor Clement Wani Konga were among the leaders who addressed the big crowd that took part in the event.
Dr. Ghada James, from the Sudan African National Union, read out a joint statement signed by eight southern Sudan parties on Saturday with the points they want the NCP to implement.
The statement called upon the NCP to refrain from disrespecting southern Sudanese presenting them as people who cannot rule themselves.
The document was signed by the Sudan African National Union, Union of Sudan African Parties, Union of Sudan African Parties -2, Sudan People’s Liberation Movement, United Democratic Sudan Forum, ANC- Sudan and South Sudan Democratic Forum (Front).
Dr. Ghada revealed that the UMMA party from Khartoum has joined the southern parties in the search of democratic transformation in the country through the full implementation of the CPA.
