The order comes after several warnings were issued against the dangers of shisha, the water-pipe smoking apparatus.
Commissioner Pius Subek told SCR News that opium and tobacco are the main ingredients used in shisha and both are major factors of mental illness.
He said the shisha smokers will turn into dangerous criminals and destabilize security in society which is the government’s concern.
Dr. Subek added that he banned shisha smoking in Juba to help control insecurity in the county.
He explained that strict orders have been issued on all South Sudan border posts to confiscate shisha equipments being smuggled into the region.
Dr. Subek added that lawbreakers will pay a fine of ten thousand US dollars if they are caught running shisha smoking places.
