Central Equatoria State Ministry of Health has issued a ban preventing pharmacies built with iron sheets to operate in the state while issuing licenses for 2010.
Dr. Simon Gore Agustino is the Director of Pharmaceutical Services in Central Equatoria State. He told SCR News that pharmacies have to be built in concrete in order to be licensed.He said that pharmacies built with iron sheets with legal licenses will not be allowed to operate in the state anymore.
Dr. Gore added that pharmacies built with concrete but without licenses will be fined according to the Ministry of Health legal procedures.
He said pharmacies cannot function without a concrete building and a license.
Renewal of licenses for all health facilities in Juba began yesterday and ends on December 29.
