The message titled “If you Want o Cultivate Peace, Protect Creation” Pope Benedict wrote for the World Day of Peace 2010 was presented today in the Vatican.

Pope Benedict writes that large numbers of people in different countries and areas are experiencing increased hardship because of the negligence or refusal of many others to exercise responsible stewardship over the environment.

The Pope calls for a greater sense of intergenerational solidarity.

Pope Benedict calls for a change of life-style to address the problem of environmental degradation challenges.

He says the prevailing models of consumption and production are often unsustainable from a social, environmental and even economic point of view.
