Cabinet adds 500 million Pounds to SPLA budget

The Council of Ministers in its regular sitting on Friday recommended 500 million South Sudanese Pounds addition to the army and other organized forces to avert security crisis in the country.
 
Government Spokesperson Michael Makuei Lueth told the press that the budget was approved by the cabinet after its presentation by Finance Minister Aggrey Tisa Sabuni.
 
He explained that the 500 million South Sudanese Pounds was drawn from operations  and development budget of various ministries would be used for combating the rebellion.
 
The Spokesperson said President Salva Kiir Mayardit announced three months’ bonus salary for the army.
 
Mr Makuei said the cabinet approved contingence budget adjustment of 253 million South Sudanese Pounds for reserve pending emerging demands.
 
He said the supplementary budget passed by cabinet would be tabled in the National Legislature on Monday.
