I am not party to shooting of Bishop-elect, Fr Mathiang testifies.

One of the prime suspects in the shooting of the bishop-elect of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek, Monsignor Christian Carlassare says he is not part in plan to shoot the bishop.

Fr John Mathiang who is accused of being opposed to the appointment of the bishop-elect denied claims that he is opposed to the appointment.

Fr Mathiang says he was awakened by gunshots on that fateful night of April 26 2021 only to find that they are under attack.

He describes the scenario after the shooting, when he and another reverend father, Andra, came to the rescue of the wounded bishop.

The remaining three accused persons are expected each to give their own account of what happened on that fateful night as the hearing continues.
