The Catholic Radio Network (CRN) is a media project constituted by community-based radio stations broadcasting in Frequency Modulation from Juba, Yei, Torit, Yambio, Rumbek, Tonj, Wau, and Malakal. CRN has also a station in the Nuba Mountains.
All the stations share the same vision and mission, and are bound by common editorial and administrative policies.
All stations broadcast shared programs in English: news, civic education, and other educational programs. Due to the heterogeneous realities of South Sudan, each station is rooted in its locality and broadcasts locally produced culture-sensitive programs in the languages which are understood by the local people. For its outreach, CRN has a potential audience of about seven million people, considering the influx of returnees to South Sudan after the Sudan Population Census 2008.
Since its beginning, CRN has extensively educated the public, especially the illiterates, on the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, the democratic process, the Sudan Elections 2010 and the Southern Sudan Referendum 2011. From July 9 2011 CRN is promoting nation building and the rule of law.
Since 2009 CRN News Desk has provided daily reliable local and regional information for the stations, which have been and are a forum for people to express their views.
Since October 2012 CRN has aired programs on the Transitional Constitution 2011 and its review.

Mission
To reach out to the people of South Sudan with a means of communication and information that builds peace through reconciliation and healing of trauma.
To contribute to the spiritual welfare of the people through good information and civic education, which foster integral human development and respect for human rights, paying a special attention to the vulnerable people (women, children, youth, the illiterate…).
Values
1. CRN offers room for a constructive dialogue with those who own different perspectives.
2. CRN is open to cooperation with associations and groups in activities geared to the promotion and full development of the human being in the fields of education, health, peace and justice, reconciliation, civic education, nation-building, etc.
3. CRN is an apolitical body. It does not side with any political group or party. Its aim is to help the listeners form a mature civic conscience.
