The people of Yei have expressed their disappointment to the Municipal Council for allowing football clubs to operate when coronavirus cases are on increase.
 
Administrator John Benson Yona confirmed that the municipal authority has permitted football clubs to operate normally to ease livelihood.
 
He admits that it is difficult to supervise players when they play at night.
 
Meanwhile, Radio Easter callers have expressed their dismay to the council for taking such initiative when it faces some challenges to supervise them to maintain social distance.
 
One of the callers, who identified himself only as James, blamed South Sudanese leaders for paying deaf ears to issues of concern.
 
He warned that the decision endangers the lives of the entire population.
 
Another caller Peter accused security agents for not doing enough in enforcing the guidelines announced by the Ministry of Health and WHO to reduce the spread of the pandemic.
 
He urged the security personnel to stop people from social gathering to reduce the spread of the virus.
 
Aaron Wani, another caller, blamed the municipal authorities for valuing money more than people’s lives.
 
He appealed to the council to either reverse its decision or allow schools and Churches to operate.
 
Female students have also appealed to the government to open schools to reduce the number of girls getting married because of idleness.
