Search for Common Ground South Sudan announced that UN Youth Envoy Jayathma Wickramanayake will next week launch young women’s participation in local and national peace processes project.
 
Search for Common Ground told CRN that it will implement the project in collaboration with its national partners to strengthen young females.
 
The project outreach activities will mainly be implemented in Juba, Bor, Jonglei and Aweil in Northern Bahr el Ghazal and Torit in former Eastern Equatoria.
 
The objective of the 18-month project is to strengthen the ability of women leaders and groups to collaboratively lead local and national level peace efforts.
 
It is to transform attitudes and behaviours about youth especially young women, their role in peace and security and to contribute guidance, best practices and lessons learned to the global youth engagement in peace and security.
 
Throughout the project, there will be milestone activities which enable monitoring of progress to promote themes and concepts of inclusivity of women and acceptance of dynamic change and mediation.
