The National Pre-Transitional Committee Secretary promises to avail a detailed accountability report within one week, on the funds received from various partners.

Martin Elia Lomuro in his remarks to the R-JMEC plenary says they started receiving financial reports from the security mechanisms on how the money will be used.

“We will be making a detailed presentation of what we received from the partners. It will be absolutely exuberant because there are all these rumours on misuse of funds and misappropriation”, he stresses.

The Interim Chair of Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission, Ambassador Augostino Njoroge, highlights the importance of accountability and transparency in the management of the funds provided.

Njoroge urges the international community to have one voice to support the revitalised peace pact on time.

He asks NPTC to immediately release the requisite funds to the implementing mechanisms.

Head of UN Mission in South Sudan, David Shearer, stresses the need to release the funds to resolve the security issues, including training of forces, food and medical services.

The officials spoke during the opening remarks at the R-JMEC plenary on Wednesday on the 84-days of the extended 100-days of pre-transitional period.
