The Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Torit is calling on Toposa and Buya communities in Kapoeta to unite and work for peace in the state.
 
Speaking to Christians on Sunday at Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral bishop Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla appeals to the communities to embrace peace in order for development to prevail in their area Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
He explains the Church will continue building confidence and trust through continuous solidarity visits to the conflict affected areas.
 
“The youth from Buya those Toposa from Riwoto, will go together for solidarity visits that will continue to build confidence between these people communities Buya and the Toposa. so my dear people of God I urge you to pray for this communities of ours that God may bring them peace not just physical peace but peace in mind and Body then tranquillity without peace we cannot do anything, we cannot progress,” he explains
 
The Catholic Bishop stresses that the unknown gun men disrupting the unity of South Sudan citizens will one day be held accountable.
 
He advises Christians to erase all kind of evils from their hearts and accept Christ Jesus as a prince of peace and tranquillity.
 
The Toposa and Buya communities recently had been in clash due to cattle raiding and counter revenge attacks.
 
The clash led to several deaths reported from both sides.
 
South Sudan Council of Churches during their solidarity visit to Kapoeta state prepared a possible reconciliatory dialogue between the two communities of Buya and Toposa.
