The extension of 100 days in the formation of the transitional government has reduced the tensions and fear of citizens for war in the country, said Fr Zachariah Angutuwa, Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Yei on Sunday.

He explained that many people started migrating out from the country because of the doubt of forming the government which may lead to another fresh fighting, Radio Easter reported.

“Our tension has come down. Some of us who were moving up and down, many people have immigrated because of November 12. People doubt about it. Thanks to God 100 days is given to us to evaluate our feelings. May be those who are concerned of us, have seen these indicators and they advise us positive to avoid our running away. May be we see also threats from outside”, says the Vicar General.

The Vicar General believes that avoiding running away is not the solution to problem, but reduce the tensions and use the brain to evaluate lives so that God listens to the prayers of the people.

“There are some people or supper men among us. Let us be careful. So avoiding running is not solution for us. We looking into our situation, that the fear is suspended. If you kill somebody why do you begin to run away? Our tensions should reduce but let us use our brain in every community so that if God really listens to our hearts, it brings us peace” says Fr Zachariah.

Fr Zachariah spoke to the Christians at Christ the King Cathedral on Sunday in Yei.
