Civil society organizations in Torit State resolved to disseminate the Revitalized Agreement document to counties, Payams and Bomas.

According Radio Emmanuel, the agreement came during organizations’ monthly forum at Torit Civic Engagement Center.

The resolution came after they noticed that populations in villages are still not aware of what is going on in the country.

Chairperson for Civil Society Network for Eastern Equatoria Charles Okullu says they agreed to create sensitization of peace in counties in the state.

The civil society will update communities in counties about the peace process on monthly basis, he adds.

The chairperson explains that monthly forum engages all members together to discuss challenges and recommendations for smooth operation of community-based organizations in the state.

He advises civil society organization to get registered with State Relief and Rehabilitation Commission so as to operate legally.

“The key objective of our monthly gathering is to bring over fifty civil society organizations together so that we discuss various consent facing our community, facing our organizations then we can seek ways how we can help each other to address those issues”, says Okullu.

He complains that “About registration of civil society organization there are a lot of civil society who are willing to do activities, but now they are cut by registration criteria where the registration is expensive it give the position of civil society in very difficult view that’s why we are coming here looking at ways on how best civil society can come together”.

The Chairperson for Civil Society Network for Eastern Equatoria was speaking to Radio Emmanuel during meeting in Torit on Thursday.
