UN mission in South Sudan has launched a report on the people’s project aimed at improving lives of communities across the country.
 
Special Representative and Head UNMISS David Shearer told reporters that the project makes an immediate impact to improve the living condition those who have been displaced by conflict.
 
He says it will help them return back home to start constructing new infrastructure in the communities to bring people together in the pursuit.
 
Shearer adds that the project includes drilling dozens of boreholes, renovating court houses and police and more.
 
The UN Head says that people in the country have suffered immensely as results of war and many of the basic services they need to survive on have been destroyed.
 
He condemns the rape incident that took place in Bentieu.
 
However Sheared says that a team on the ground is doing investigations hopefully the culprits can be apprehended.
 
UNMISS has invested at least seven point five million in about 140 projects since 2011 to help protect civilians and build durable peace.
