UN Development Program or UNDP is training organized forces, government and law actors including civil society organizations representatives and community leaders in Torit on trauma and information.
According to Radio Emmanuel, the training is South Sudan Trauma Healing Initiative dealing with trauma and stress caused by the long term suffering of citizens.
Condition Emmanuel working for UNDP says communities need to be informed about the existing trauma they face.
He says the three weeks training is for facilitators who in turn will train community members on the ground.
Emmanuel says the course targets 20 members from the government and 20 from the civil society organizations handing cases of people who cause crimes as a result of trauma.
Colonel Caesar Oromo Urbano, Torit State Acting Police Commissioner, expresses optimism that the signed peace agreement will reduce trauma in the country.
He admits that trauma exists in everybody in the country due to the ongoing war.
The three weeks training attended by more 40 participants started on Monday at Dynamic Business Center in Torit.
