The Secretary-General of Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa or AMECEA calls on bishops to deeply evaluate its origin and mission for the future growth of the church in Africa.
Fr Ferdinand Lugonzo says AMECEA founding fathers intended to bring development among conference members with the philosophy of thinking globally and acting locally.
He stresses the need to have long term strategy of the future of the church in the continent, AMECEA Online News reported.
Archbishop Emeritus of Lusaka, Zambia, Telesphore Mpundu, encourages unity and solidarity among bishops.
He discloses that AMECEA brought the idea of deepening evangelization through Small Christian Communities and that there is need to reflect and renew commitment in the matter.
The Chairman of AMECEA Cardinal Berhaneyesus D. Souraphiel thanks his executive board members for their great efforts in the past four years.
He says the unity and dedication of the members gave him an easy time during his service in office and led AMECEA to be one of the most successful Conferences in Africa whose fruits can be realized.
AMECEA Social Communications chairman Fr Charles Kasonde thanks members of the secretariat for their preparedness and willingness to do the job as required.
