The Minister of Gender and Social Development in Tonj State is calling on the parents to promote girl child education.
 
Luka Lual Madang regrets that the number of girls in the schools is very small due to cultural practice, 
 
He stresses that parents are still neglecting daughters’ future and hope only for wealth.
 
The minister points out that parents are putting more efforts on boys’ education leaving girls behind.
 
Equal rights should be given to both boys and girls, he stresses.
 
The official made the remarks in an interview to Don Bosco Radio.
