The United Nations Development Program or UNDP concluded five-day training for police investigators in Torit State on Friday.

Ukidimoi Ugura, Torit State Minister of Local Government, applauds UNDP for supporting the training of forty-eight police investigators.

The trainees will now use their skills to reduce crimes in the state, he points out.

Minister Ugura says the work of investigators is very important in eliminating human rights abuses.

Private Chandia Agnes Rubano, trainees’ representative, says transport among other challenges still hinders police activities in the state.

She calls on authorities to address challenges the police are facing.

Emmanuel Gumbiri, UNDP Peace and Community Cohesion Officer, expresses his office readiness to work with the police in times of difficulties.

The speakers were talking during the closing of the five-day training in Torit last Friday.
