Jubek State Ministry of Health and partners on Tuesday launched six-day mass vaccination campaign to protect children and women against diseases.

The immunization is part of the African Vaccination Week to raise awareness about the importance of inoculation, Bakhita Radio reports.

Dr Jamal Hassan Juma, Director-General of Jubek State Ministry of Health says they set up five vaccination centres across Juba City.

He urges parents to take their children for immunization in order to protect them from preventable diseases such as polio.

Dr Samson Paul Baba, Special Advisor for Preventable Diseases and Immunization at the National Ministry of Health, blames South Sudanese men for not supporting their women during vaccination of children.

The campaign was launched at Al-Sabah Children’s Hospital on Tuesday in Juba.
