Imotong state on Thursday joined the world to celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme: “Time is now to press for progress to transform rural women and girls lives”
Angelina Bernardino Jacob the chairperson for Imotong state Women Association says the occasion aims at recognizing the role of women in South Sudan. Emmanuel Radio reports.
Bernardino urges South Sudanese to respect women’s rights and pity the suffering they experience

Juliana Momoi Choho the Mayor of Torit Municipal Council calls for awareness creation on women rights for women to better understand their rights and roles.
Momoi says most women in rural areas are denied access to education and participation in developmental activities such beauty contest
Momoi urges all men to stop beating women and girls and describes it as a bad culture.
Vitale Ongejuk Imotong state Minister of Gender, admits women and girls are victims of discrimination and girl child compensation.
He advises citizens to end all forms of cultural practices against women and girls so as to allow them exercise full potential as men.
Minster Ongejuk calls on law actors to bring perpetrators of women and girl rights to book
