The Director-General for Physical Infrastructure in Tonj State tells the public that the airstrip will be extended soon.
Angelo Akuei Akuei says the registration will be done before compensation of houses that will be affected by the initiative, Radio Don Bosco reports.
Akuei discloses that they have registered 672 people before evacuating them to another area.
Those who processed their documents already should not be charged again and compensation should be done to those with buildings, he explains.
Victor Mawien Akoon, one of the residents close to the airstrip, appreciates the plan of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure because it is dangerous for those near the airstrip.
He explains that the ministry is waiting for dry season to start the initiative.
The leaders made the comments on Tuesday in Tonj.
