The issue of polygamy is contributing to criminal activity and promotes corruption in some parts of South Sudan, says Executive Director of Orphan Care Organization Agency in Unity State.
Charles Machieng Kuol adds that parents may not be able to care for their families and children end up being in the streets, Anisa Radio reports.
He calls on everybody to learn child spacing for proper caring in terms of education, health and other basic needs.
Machieng encourages the government, community and civil society organizations to advocate for the rights of the child and minimize polygamy.
He also calls on the conflicting parties to end the war and embrace peace so that South Sudanese do not produce many orphans and street children.
The speaker made the remarks in a telephone interview with Anisa Radio on Friday from Unity State in Bentiu.
