Save the Children International and Western Lakes Sate government on Wednesday held a Children Conference in Rumbek.
 
The forum focused on Children’s Rights and things that affect girl child education in the state, Radio Good News reports.
 
Gabriel Gong Baak is the Project Manager for Safe the Children International. He says the aim of the conference was to sensitize the government on the rights of children.
 
Gong says gender based violence directly or indirectly affects children in many families.
 
He advises parents to give their children a chance to study for bright future.
 
Dut makoi Kuok, Western Lakes State Minister of Education says there is increment of girls’ enrolment in schools in Greater Lakes, compared to previous years.
 
The Conference was attended by Primary Schools children, government officials and other key actors in the state.
