The Commissioner of Tonj County reveals that the state government has deployed troops to unsecure areas bordering Wau.

Severino Philip Bazia says soldiers will protect civilians and their properties while cultivating, Radio Don Bosco reports.

The commissioner urges people not to move at night.

The state authorities in collaboration with military barrack in Tonj organized the deployment.

The initiative came after armed opposition forces loyal to Dr Riek Machar allegedly killed civilians and looted their property.

Some cattle keepers also joined in looting and killing in the area.

Commissioner Philip broke the news to Radio Don Bosco on Wednesday in Tonj.
